Staffline – Nottingham, First Floor.- Office Renovation
Bridge Interiors was tasked with renovating an existing open plan area to create a double-glazed office space with improved acoustics. The project involved several aspects, including enabling works, flooring, partitioning, suspended ceiling, decoration, electrical works, internal doors, flooring upgrades, and additional acoustic enhancements.
Enabling Works: To ensure a safe and secure work environment, Bridge Interiors commenced the project by installing health and safety signage throughout the site. Temporary screens and hoardings were erected where necessary to protect and secure the work areas. Plastic floor protection was laid over the existing carpet tiles, and debris and surplus materials were cleared from the site. Finally, thorough cleaning was conducted upon completion of the works.
Flooring Works: Approximately 15m² of the existing floor covering was carefully uplifted and set aside. If required, a self-leveling screed was applied. The existing carpet tiles were refitted to the newly formed area, and approximately 15m² of new CFS Formation mid-range carpet tiles were supplied and installed in the newly formed centre room.
Partition Works – Improved Acoustics: The existing glazed screens were removed and properly disposed of, and the former abutments were made good. Bridge Interiors supplied and installed Komfort 100mm solid elevation partitioning, forming end and party walls for the new office build. The partitioning abutted the existing suspended ceiling, with a white head channel, taped and filled board joints for emulsion decoration. A 100mm white PC skirting was added to the base. Small framed Polar style double-glazed partitioning with aluminium door frames was installed on the frontages. The doors featured 4 stained veneer solid-core doors with large vision panels and square profile levers on rose with a sash lock. The abutment was matched as closely as possible to the existing door leaves. Manifestation in the form of standard DDA compliant 50mm dots or squares was allowed at this stage, with the option for corporate designs upon receipt of approved artworks from the client. The lead time for glazed partitioning was approximately 6 weeks.
Suspended Ceiling: Damaged ceiling tiles were replaced, and 600×600 acoustic pads were supplied and fitted on top of the existing gridwork within the newly formed offices.
Decoration: The existing walls were prepared, misted, and received two coats of emulsion decoration to achieve a refreshed appearance.
Electrical Works: Alterations were made to accommodate the newly formed partitions. Existing floor boxes were removed, rewired, and refitted to suit the new desk layouts as per the provided drawings. Power and TV cables were repositioned as needed. Existing TVs were removed, refitted using existing bracketry, and rewired. Pendant lights (4 in total) were also removed, rewired, and refitted to match the new desk layouts. Additionally, two new floor boxes consisting of two power sockets were wired and fitted for the new meeting tables. Four recessed occupancy sensors were supplied, wired, and fitted to the newly formed offices as indicated in the drawings. If required, existing AC supplies were rewired and refitted internally to suit the new positions. Furthermore, existing speakers and smoke detectors were removed, rewired, and refitted as necessary to align with the newly formed offices, provided the system was non addressable and not managed by another contracted company.
Internal Doors: Upgrade to new doors was discussed and subsequently supplied and installed by Bridge Interiors.
Flooring: The project included the replacement of Kingsspan floor tiles. The floor area was prepared, and new Kingsspan tiles were supplied, delivered, and installed using the manufacturer’s recommended tackifiers and adhesives.
